Employment PLUS Program
St. Paul Urban Tennis is hiring 8 East Side high school juniors and seniors for our Employment PLUS (EP) program at Eastview Recreation Center.
EP students will take on hands-on job tasks at Eastview Rec Center (and may help coach SPUT's fall and spring tennis lessons) while also building career and life skills through our "PLUS" programming: career exploration, resume building, interview skills, college and workplace visits, and more.
Hours: 3:30PM–5:00 PM, occasionally 5:00PM–7:00 PM on coaching days
Pay: $16.37/hour
Schedule: Monday–Wednesday, September 28 – January 27
Job Tasks May Include:
- Coaching SPUT fall tennis lessons
- Helping keep Eastview Rec Center clean (sweeping, mopping, etc.)
- Stringing tennis rackets
- Planning community events at Eastview Rec Center
- Assisting with SPUT administrative work (donor thank-you notes, counting money, etc.)
- And more!
PLUS Activities May Include:
- Researching post-secondary options — skills assessments, career clusters, college research
- Resume building
- Interview skills and employment readiness training
- Visits to colleges (2-year, 4-year, private, trade) and workplaces of interest
- Mental health resources, coping skills, and mindfulness
- Practical life skills — changing a tire, writing a professional email, First Aid/CPR, and more

Summer Coaching Positions
Our coaches have been strengthening our community and empowering youth for more than 30 years. Being a SPUT coach is more than just a summer job, its an opportunity to grow as a leader, learn valuable employment skills, develop your craft as a tennis player, and much more.
